Asamoah Gyan Poised To Play For Asante Kotoko Before Hanging His Boots

adminBy adminApril 18, 2022

Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan has resolved fully to play for Asante Kotoko before retiring from his illustrious lifetime career.

Gyan, 36, actually wants to play for Kotoko, a club he has cherished since infancy.

Gyan was vigorously connected with the club before the beginning of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, however, he ended up signing a one-year deal with Legon Cities.

He stopped playing for Legon Cities in October last year and has since been without a club.

Notwithstanding, speaking on Joy FM on Monday, as part of his M media interaction ahead of his book launch, Gyan indicated his adoration for the Ghana Premier League side while conceding the Kumasi-based side will be his next club if it would be advisable for him to return to the local local scene.

“I might want to play for Asante Kotoko assuming I need to return to playing football again. I love the club,” Gyan told Accra-based Joy FM.

Kotoko are right now the league leaders of the 2021/22 Premier League season, flaunting an eight-point gap at the highest point of the league table after 25 games.

Gyan is the nation’s all top goal scorer with 51 goals having played in 2006, 2010, and 2014 World Cup in Germany, South Africa, and Brazil respectively.

Gyan has about  200 club goals , having played for the likes of Udinese, Sunderland, Rennes and Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
