BREAKING: Otto Addo Dismissed as Black Stars Coach

adminBy adminMarch 31, 2026

By Alex Ababio

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has officially ended its working relationship with Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.

The decision follows a series of disappointing results in Ghana’s recent international friendlies, where the team suffered heavy defeats—losing 5-1 to Austria and 2-1 to Germany.

In a short statement, the GFA announced that Addo has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect, marking a shift in direction for the national team.

“The Ghana Football Association has parted ways with Head Coach Otto Addo effective immediately,” the statement said.

The Association also expressed gratitude for his efforts during his tenure.

“We sincerely thank Otto Addo for his service to the team and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

With the position now vacant, the GFA revealed that steps are already being taken to restructure the team’s technical setup.

“The Ghana Football Association will, in due course, announce the new technical direction of the Black Stars,” the statement added.

The move comes amid growing concerns over the team’s recent performances, as focus now shifts to who will take charge of the Black Stars with less than 75 days remaining before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
