Ghana To Kick Start National Space Agency One Year From Now – Vice President Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has declared that the Ghana Space agency  will be operationalised in 2023 as a feature of endeavors to bridle the force of earth observation to help planning and decision making  in weather forecasting as well as observing and response  to natural disasters.

He unveiled that Cabinet had endorsed the Ghana Space Strategy and Execution Plan that will empower the full operationalisation of the National  Space Agency.

Soeaking at the opening session of the Group  on Earth Observation (GEO) week on Wednesday morning in Accra, Dr Bawumia said the nation was managing reciprocal and multilateral organizations to “support asset proficiency, lay out a circular economy, relieve, and adjust to climate  change, mitigate and adapt to climate change and end biodiversity misfortune”.

“We are likewise effectively chasing after better ways of outfitting the force of earth observation to help planning  and support in weather forecasting measuring , estimating land-use change (like deforestation), observing shores, and checking and responding to catastrophes, including flames, floods, and tremors,” Dr Bawumia said.

“On this note, we are glad to illuminate you that Cabinet has endorsed the Ghana Space Strategy and Execution Plan that will empower the full operationalization of the Ghana Space Agency  one year from now.
