Bawumia Cuts Sod For Construction Of 32 State Of The Art TVET Centres Across The Country

The Vice president Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia has cut sod for the commencement of work for 32 state of the Art TVET Centres across the country at Abrankese near Kuntanase in the Ashanti region .

The Government has created innovative programmes and projects in education sector that proactively contribute to government ‘s policy of “Reforming and Strengthening the Education system and institutions to provide education for all Ghanaians”.
Against this backdrop the the Ministry of Education and the Commission for TVET have taken a step to ensure the establishment of 32 state of the art Technical and Vocational Educational Training Centers across Ghana in three phases.

The first phase of this landmark projects consists of the development of 9 state-of-the-art Centers.

The Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia addressing the durbal held at Abrankese in the Bosomtwe district of Ashanti region hinted consolidation of the free opportunity and his campaign, the number of students place in pre tertiary institutions stands at Fifty Seven Thousand Three Hundred and Ninety Nine 57, 399 out of Sixty Four Thousand Six Hundred Fourty-One 64, 641 vacancies declared representing 88.8% and 44.992 have been enrolled as of May 2022.

For his part the Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum disclosed, “this is the moment for Ghana TVET, a moment for Asanteman, a moment for Bosomtwe and a moment for Abrankese to commerce the construction of a great institution.”

He expressed his happiness about the Planet One Group which is their choice of partner for this prestigious project.

The planet One group has rich experience of developing and executing projects across the entire continuum of education.

Recently, the group has successfully complete the overall upgrading and modernization of all erstwhile 34 (NVTI) National Vocational Training Institute centers, apprenticeship offices, regional offices, and the head office One erstwhile OIC center and two foundries and machining centers in Kumasi and Accra.

The Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah also expressed his happiness about where the project has been cited in the Bosomtwe district within the Ashanti region.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo for bringing the issues of Technical and Vocational Educational to the front burner.
