British Ambassador Unveils Climate-Inspired Queen’s Elizabeth Birthday  Present to Ghana

It’s been three years long since the British High Commission to Ghana held party to celebrate her  Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s birthday and Platinum Jubilee.

Visitors included Minister for Tourism, Dr Ibrahim Mohammed Awal, Sir Tony Blair, Chiefs, delegates from political parties , and individuals from the diplomatic corps as well as partners, companions, artists, entertainers, and leaders  in business and industry

On February 6, her Majesty was on record to be  the first  British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, making seventy years of service  to citizens  of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

Her phenomenal rule has seen her travel more widely  than any other monarch , undertaking in excess of 260 official visits abroad, and two of those visits have been to Ghana.

Held in person  interestingly starting around 2019 and facilitated by the first  female High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson, and her better half Nick Thompson at their home in Accra, visitors saw probably the freshest and most energetic British-Ghanaian innovation including a Kofa e-mobility motorbike.

Delivering her speech, British High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson disclosed £1 million of financing, matched by UK charity Shell Foundation, over the course of the following four years to turbocharge Ghana’s e-mobility, battery, sun powered or solar  and charging sector .

The declaration acknowledged  the worldwide commitment made at COP26 by leaders from around the world including his Excellency President Nana Akofo-Addo. Facilitated by the UK and Italy in Scotland last year, COP26 denoted an unequivocal change on the planet’s way to deal with handling fossil fuel byproducts and setting an unmistakable guide to restricting the climb in worldwide temperatures to 1.5 degrees.

British  High Commissioner to Ghana, Harriet Thompson noted , “Hosting  this exceptionally unique occasion in the wake of three long  years is a colossal honor and a joy for my family and me.

“This evening we observe Her Majesty the Queen’s 96th birthday celebration, her remarkable accomplishment of arriving at 70 years on the throne  and the profound, expansive and growing  UK-Ghana partnership.

“The Queen’s Birthday is the greatest occasion in the British High Commissioner’s schedule, and it is the ideal moment  to declare that the UK, matched by UK charity  Shell Foundation, is investing   nearly ¢10 million of funding , over the next four years , in Ghana’s e-mobility, battery, solar and charging sector , bringing technological development and climate action  together.”

Agents from British e-mobility  business Kofa situated in Accra went to the party bringing along their e-mobility  motorbike. Visitors got an opportunity to sit on the motorbike and see more about how the new battery innovation functions.

The organization has had the option to make its new motorbike on account of the help from the UK charity  Shell Foundation and the UK government.

Jaguar Landrover has additionally shown the new model Landrover Defender, which not long from now, will be available as a hybrid vehicle for the first time in  Ghana.

Shell Foundation Regional Manager, West Africa, Kwaku Owusu-Achaw said, “Shell Foundation’s partnership with the UK government, as a component of the Transforming Energy Access program, has proactively improved  the  lives  of 12.5m individuals and reduced  1.8m m/t of carbon emissions  through improved Access to energy and transport innovations and business solutions across Africa.”

“We’re eager to see this new commitment support innovative, game-changing solutions like Kofa. With Kofa’s battery innovation viable  for multiple household  and business applications, it is an incredible illustration of how enterprising ability can cause  Ghana to transform income , whealth and education through access  to renewable energy.
