News Desk Report

Investigative Broadcast Journalist Isaac Nsiah Foster is expected to be officially enstooled as the Otumfuo Safiesohene Chief Linguist on Friday, December 5, at Abuakwa–Kegyase, a well-known suburb of Kumasi. According to community members, “the ceremony is a major traditional moment for the people of Abuakwa–Kegyase.”

Other individuals lined up for enstoolment include Obaa Panin Akua Asantewaa, who will serve as Queen Mother; Mr. Ernest Opoku, who is being installed as Gyasehene; Yaw Patrick, chosen as Sanaahene; and Kwabena Yeboah, confirmed as Mmamahene.

The enstoolment process, community elders explained, typically takes place when the community, families, chiefs, and the nominated candidates swear an oath of allegiance to the Abuakwa–Kegyasehene, Nana Akwasi Amoaten, who also serves as the Otumfuo Safiesohene. One traditional elder noted, “the oath signifies loyalty, responsibility, and service to the stool.”

Isaac Nsiah Foster completed his studies at the College of the Media Studies (CMS) in Kumasi and began practicing journalism in 2004. His early career involved reporting assignments at the Manhyia Palace and the Kumasi Law Courts, after which he expanded into investigative reporting. His major investigative works include “West Africa’s Most Wanted Busted” and “Two Togo Nationals Murdered at Adjen Kotoku,” among several others. Nsiah Foster said his work has always been guided by “a commitment to truth, accountability, and service to society.”

Over the years, Nsiah Foster has been nominated for multiple media awards in the Ashanti Region and other areas across the country. He has risen through various professional levels in the media—from reporter to his current position. He now serves as the Deputy News Editor of the Ghanaian Watch, as well as Director in Charge of Human Rights for the Africa Liberators and Economic Institute (ALEI). He is also the personal producer for Nana Yaa Serwaah, host of Sompa Nkomo Friday on Sompa TV and Sompa 93.1 FM, Kumasi.

In the course of his media career, he has worked with several outlets, including Nkosuo Radio 95.3, OTEC 102.9, Fox 97.9, Odo TV, Silver Media Alliance, Ahotor 92.3, and others. Colleagues from some of these organizations describe him as “a dedicated professional with strong investigative skills.”

Additionally, Isaac Nsiah Foster is trained as a paralegal and previously worked with the Ashanti Regional Office of the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative (CHRI).

He hails from Manso Atwere in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region. His late father, Nana Akuamoah Boaten, however, originated from Kwahu–Nkwatia in the Eastern Region. Family members say his dual heritage “has always shaped his understanding of culture and leadership.”
