A 33-year-old mobile money vendor at Manso Yawkrom has been stabbed and shot to death by unknown assailants.
The deceased, identified as Augustine Mensah, reportedly received a phone call from a customer while at work. He was about to close for the day when he went to assist the customer with a money withdrawal. On his way home, he encountered the assailants, who first stabbed him before shooting him to death, according to some residents.

Speaking to residents of the Manso-Asaman community, some believe Mensah may have had a brief altercation with his attackers. Others, however, suspect it was a contract killing, as he was known to be a peaceful and respectful man with no known disputes.
His wife, Sakina Iddrisu, revealed that he left behind a two-year-old son. She insisted that her husband had no conflicts with anyone.
“He is the only person who can tell what caused his death. No one knows what could have led to it except he and his God,” she said.
Recounting the tragic moment, Sekina said she was at home when she received a call to come to the Danyame River. Upon arrival, she was informed that her husband had been rushed to St. Martin’s Hospital at Agroyesum in the Amansie West District. She followed up to the hospital, only to find his lifeless body on the ground.
The case has since been reported to the police, who have launched an investigation.
