Charles Bissue’s Arrest Unveils a Web of Intrigue and Legal Maneuvering

The recent arrest of Charles Bissue, the former Secretary to the dissolved Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), has sent shockwaves through the corridors of power.

unveiled sources within the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Charles Bissue’s arrest sheds light on a complex web of intrigue and legal maneuvering. The developments that unfolded on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at precisely 11:45 am, when Mr. Bissue voluntarily turned himself in to the OSP, have brought forth a series of pressing questions.

Sources close to the investigation reveal that Mr. Bissue was immediately placed under arrest upon his surrender. During the subsequent interrogation, investigators delved into the allegations of corruption surrounding the dissolved IMCIM, where Mr. Bissue served as Secretary. Surprisingly, just he was questioned, he was released on bail, raising eyebrows about the nature and extent of the evidence against him.

The revelation of Charles Bissue’s arrest came through a press statement issued by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, on Wednesday afternoon. The timing of the arrest raises speculation as to its connection to the OSP’s recent declaration of Mr. Bissue as a wanted person. It was last week that the OSP deemed his failure to respond to an invitation as a significant obstruction to the ongoing investigation into suspected corruption within the IMCIM.

It is worth noting that Mr. Bissue had taken legal action to prevent the OSP from prosecuting him. In December 2022, he initiated legal proceedings by filing a Writ of Summons and Statement of Claim against the OSP and two other individuals. This move followed the OSP’s announcement concluding their investigations into corruption allegations made against him by Tiger Eye P.I. and Anas. The development further escalated in January 2023 when Mr. Bissue amended the writ and filed an injunction, seeking to restrain the OSP from conducting any further investigations or pursuing legal action against him.

The arrest of Charles Bissue has cast a spotlight on the broader implications of the dissolved IMCIM’s activities and the allegations of corruption surrounding it. Now that the investigation has just began and continue from today forward , surely it remains to be seen how this arrest will shake those in the corridors of power and whether it will lead to further legal proceedings against Mr. Bissue or shed light on the extent of the alleged corruption within the IMCIM. The public awaits with bated breath as the truth behind these intricate legal maneuvers unravels.
