NPP Needs Christian As Flagbearer – Ayeh Paye Demands

adminBy adminJanuary 31, 2023

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) needs a Christian as its flagbearer moving into the 2024elections , this is as indicated by Samuel Ayeh Paye, a former Member of Parliament for the Ayensuano Constituency.

He contended that the 2024 races would be decided based on religion, which is the reason he encouraged the NPP to choose a Christian over a Muslim as its flagbearer in front of ahead of the general election 2024.

Speaking on Adom television’s flagship morning show Badwam, the Eastern regional campaign Cordinator for Alan Kyerematen made sense of that since John Mahama, the NDC’s top decision, is a Christian and most of Ghanaians recognize as Christian, it was instructive for the NPP to choose a Christian over a Muslim to lead the party.

Hon. Ayeh Paye brought up that statistics show that Christians make up majority of our people , consequently any work by the NPP to pick a Muslim as its flagbearer conveyor could hurt the party’s possibilities staying in power in 2024.

“As an NPP, I accept we ought to present somebody with a Christian foundation,” he expressed on the show hosted by Akwasi Nsiah, taking note of that main 17% of Ghana’s populace is Muslim, contrasted with the country’s by and large 71% Christian populace.

“Regardless of whether we like it, the NDC will bring John Mahama who is a Christian, and when that occurs, it implies the 2024 political race will try and take its significant course in the Churches, so we should be cautious we don’t present a competitor whose strict foundation will turn into an issue against us,” he demanded.
