ALEI Organises Sensitisation Seminar For 2500 BECE Candidates From Offinso South

As part of preparation towards impeding Basic Education Certificate Examination, BECE, the African Liberators Economic Institute, ALEI, a Non- Governmental Organization in collaboration with Offinso South Municipal Education Directorate of Ghana Education Service ,GES , has organised a sensitisation Seminar for Junior High School (JHS) students in the Municipality to learn how to solve examination questions during the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) which begins today

The three day seminar which was organised for 2500 candidates drawn from various public and private schools located at Abofour , Mpehi, Kayera, Dentin and Namon in the Offinso South Municipality was aimed at empowering the candidates to develop mastery on the examination and avoid examination mistakes and malpractices.

Speaking to Ghanaian Watch at Mpehi, one of the Centres of the Seminar , an Examinar and a facilitator  , Mr Peter Nsiah who is also a tutor at Dwamena Akenten Senior High School , explained the various techniques and approaches with which the children should approach the examination , especially during the science questions to avoid any mistakes that can cause them to perform abysmally.

He noted that regarding answering questions in Mathematics students should be in tuned with the concepts and work hard to be accurate.

“In Mathematics they need to understand every concept .So, without the concept they cannot answer the questions.”

“They need to follow the syllabus and try to be systematic with their approach , and be smart because speed and accuracy will aid them to finish on time . ”

On his part , the Programs Director of African Liberators Economic Institute ,Dr Sam Arthur who is a Career and Management Consultant expressed his optimistic the knowledge impacted in the children would greatly make a difference in their performance in the examination.

“We believe that this we have done as the objectives would serve right will equip and enhance their performance to develop all tricks and tips that will well aid them to identify mastery over the examination .

He was hopeful when they children took the bold step to use the knowledge impacted in them it would assist them to improve on their grades in the examination.

” They say knowledge is power but i say Kinetic knowledge is power , because knowledge that is in use becomes power
If not then efforts have been wasted , but i’m encouraged by the attendance and i believe they have also promised that they would do their best.And i will urge that in return they should give off their best and do it . So ,that we can see a difference in heights in their academic performance.”

Mr I.P.K Ankomah, Deputy Director in Charge of Supervision and Monitoring at the Offinso Municipal Education Directorate , urged the students to utilize the the knowledge impacted in them to excel in their examination to make their teachers and parents proud .

“I will advise that they should learn harder , from today onwards everything should be book .They should eat book ,sleep book and do everything book .So,that what thy have been taught and what they have learnt on the examination day ,they can reproduce what they have been taught in order to pass their exams well.”
