President Akufo-Addo Sacks Adwoa Safo As Gender Minister

adminBy adminJuly 29, 2022

President Akufo-Addo has sacked Sarah Adwoa Safo as the Gender Minister

This was contained in a press statement issued from the Presidency on Thursday, July 28, under the signature of the Communications Director, Eugene Arhin.

As per the assertion, President Akufo-Addo did as such under Article 81(a) of the 1992 Constitution.

, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has revoked the appointment of Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, with immediate ‘” part of the statement noted .

The statement further stated ,” the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, will continue to act as the Caretaker Minister, until such a period President Akufo-Addo chooses a substantive Minister.”

Recently, Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin deferred the decision on the fate of Sarah Adwoa Safo as a Dome Kwabenya MP.

Alban Bagbin in the wake of paying attention to banters from the two sides of the House on Thursday said he will introduce a reasoned written ruling to the House at the next sitting.

Sarah Adwoa Safo failed to show up before the Committee to legitimize her nonattendance for more than fifteen sittings after many attempts by the Committee to contact her fizzled.

The Committee then, at that point, presented its report to the plenary after its sitting and suggested that the House pronounces the seat of the MP vacant .
