IMF Bailout Will Reduce The Heat  On Akufo-Addo – Gabby Otchere-Darko

adminBy adminJuly 4, 2022

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, is hopeful about the political ramifications of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) role in resusciting Ghana’s disturbed economy.

As per him, statements by individuals from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the course of action will negatively impact the ruling party’s fortunes in the next general relections are somewhat not well informed .

Government’s declaration on Friday to draw in the IMF to help with resuscitating the economic crisis has been met with a mixed reaction from the general population.

Numerous pundits say they saw it coming and a prior affirmation of the exhortation would have saved the country a difficult situation.

A few individuals from the opposition party are now foreseeing the adverse consequence this U-turn might have on the citizens options in the 2024 decisions.

In any case, the Danquah Institute founder demands the NDC individuals are checking out at it the incorrect way.

“If JD Mahama and the NDC are blissful on the grounds that NPP going to the IMF currently will convey NDC triumph in Dec 2024 then they better reconsider,” he composed on Twitter.
In a post on Sunday, Mr Otchere-Darko proposed that the move will, all things being equal, permit President Akufo-Addo to channel his energies towards working on certain region of the country other than the areas that the IMF will reestablish.

If JD Mahama and the NDC are blissful on the grounds that NPP going to the IMF presently will convey NDC triumph in Dec 2024 then they better reconsider. It rather eases the heat off the Akufo-Addo Govt to zero in on things that will affect decidedly on the economy throughout the following 15 months.

“It rather eases the heat off the Akufo-Addo government to zero in on things that will affect decidedly on the economy over the course of the following 15 months.”

This isn’t whenever he first has safeguarded the IMF move since the declaration was made.

Speaking on Newsfile on , Gabby Otchere-Darko put the blame on the fierce resistance from the Minority in Parliament against government’s revenue mobilization effort, including the controversial E-Levy.

Be that as it may, previous President, John Mahama is of an alternate view.

The 2020 NDC flagbearer needs President Akufo-Addo to direly supplant his Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, with a more guaranteed and skillful individual who can work indefatigably to turn the country’s fortunes around.
