NDC Prof. Naana Opoku Agyemang Gives Signal Of 2024 plans

adminBy adminApril 25, 2022

Professor Naana Opoku Agyemang the Running mate of NDC’s 2020 Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama has given an adroit signal of what she plans to put into force in 2024 general elections .

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Speaking on TV3 in an interview during anniversary celebration held at Wesley College in the Ashanti Region, reiterated that, her strategies which were clearly defined in the National Democratic Congress’ 2020 manifesto remain crystalline and standing.

The 2020 manifesto , it’s for the most part intact ,” was her reaction to an question asked by a TV3 reporter who tried to figure out the thing she was prepared to bring on board in 2024.

It will be reviewed that in the NDC’s ‘people’s Manifesto’ in 2020, the then-running mate, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang vowed her determined support to John Mahama and to the party, to guarantee a victory to ensure a win . This was also necessary to get an opportunity to implement the party’s policies if they won the power .

Having worked intimately with H.E. John Dramani Mahama as former Minister of Education, I realize he is a man of vision, a leader we can trust, a public servant of uprightness, and a courageous leader who pursues the ideal choices in the national interest consistently. I promise to put forth a concentrated effort industriously and to commit every one of my energies and acumen to guarantee a resonating triumph for the NDC and for our nation, Ghana. With God on OUR SIDE, VICTORY IS OURS!” she noted in page 8 of the manifesto .

While her new remarks might suggest her intention to contest again as John Mahama’s vice for the 2024 presidential elections, questions have arisen about if the party’s 2020 flagbearer plans to retain her or supplant her with one more of the potential names that have arisen.

In the interim, a few names have arisen as potential candidate to take the place of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang assuming she is supplanted.

Up to this point, names as iddrisu Haruna’s, Minority Leader, Dr. Kwabena Duffour, former governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Kwasi Botchway, Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong, former Attorney General, Alex Mold, former CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation, Kinsley Awuah-Darko, and Former MD of Tema Oil Refinery
