The National Democratic Congress under the leadership of its Chairman , Samuel Ofoso Ampofo has challenged Government to engage them for a national debate on Sector comparative analysis.

Mr Ofusu Ampofo argued that the NDC stands tall in all sectors of the economy in terms of performance and impact on the nation’s development.

Samuel Ofosu Ampofo threw the challenge at the Town Hall meeting organized by the communication bureau of the party at the great hall of Knust in Kumasi. There is more in the following report

The opposition National Democratic Congress held its Town hall meeting at the great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology .The party raised several questions regarding the current state of the economy of the country, indicating that is the most ailing one since the fourth republic whiles making further reference to the huge debt facing the country .

Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare who was the first speaker indicated that the introduction of the E- levy at its current state would discouraged the quest of the nation into a cashless society , because alot of people would rather prefare to carry money along with them than depositing unto their wallet due to the E -levy .
She added that the entire 137 NDC members of Parliament will always vote against the E- levy at any point in time .

The former deputy energy minister , John Abdullai Jinapor and Eric Opoku former Brong Ahafo regional minister also took turn to educate the gathering on the sector comparative analysis. They further indicated that the current government has borrowed huge sums of money but has nothing to point to as what they have done with the money unlike the former administration of John Dramani Mahama which according to them can boldly point to several physical infrastructures , including the Kejetia market , phase one of the the Kumasi Airport , regional and district hospitals , roads amongst many others they mentioned.

The National chairman for NDC ,Samuel Ofosu Ampofo outlined several deficiencies characterized by the Akufo Addo/Bawumia administration which he described as lip service administration. He, however ,called for a national debate on Sector comparative analysis to proved which administration has served the nation better. He added that NDC have managed the economy and improved on infrastructure better than the NPP .

In attendance of the meeting were some identifiable groups including , GPRTU, members of garages, Students Representatives , members of the disability group , traders , among others .
