President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has declared 2021 as the year of jobs and has pledged his commitment to create more jobs for the young people in the country.

“ Establishing a strong economy undergoing structural transformation for valued added activities which will generate jobs for our young people and enhance the standard of living will be the main preoccupation for my second term”.

As indicated by President Akufo Addo, creating of jobs for the youth was important to guarantee the essential fundamentals of social equity.

He further showed that it was the premise of this social equity that his administration was focused on guaranteeing that each Ghanaian child got at least the minimum senior high school education, hence the implementation of Free Senior High School Policy.

President Akufo Addo offered this statement during his inauguration address after he was sworn in as President of Ghana for the next four-year term at Parliament house in Accra.

He acknowledged that the prominent role that were being played in the area of digitization by young people in the country was a proof of feasibility that Ghana is set to become one of the most digitized economies in Africa in the next few years.

“ In this vein, I expect the locally produced fruit juice as one of the results of the Government One Factory One District flagship program to rapidly replace the imported fruit juice in the shelves of our supermarkets. Not on the grounds that anybody will decree, but because the quality of the locally produced ones is as good if not superior.”

President Akufo Addo reiterated that Ghana remains one of the most attractive destinations for investment on the continent.

“ Some people in the country who are with the world’s biggest organizations can bear witness to this reality”

He noted that his administration would soon roll out universal health care coverage for Ghanaians.

“ Access to quality health care is no longer a luxury ordinary people cannot afford following the revival of the National Health Insurance Scheme “, he stressed

President Akufo Addo focused on that the nation’s roads were being constructed at a much faster pace than before, acknowledging that there were more kilometers to be constructed.

“ I defined last year as the year of roads. This year will be the second year of roads.”

He expressed that the remaining 15 percent of communities in the country who are without electricity would be covered in his second term.

He further indicated that some percentage of Ghanaians without access to potable water would significantly be reduced as a result of commitment by his administration executing a good number of water supply projects across the country.
