Sene West Electoral Dispute : NDC wins the court case

adminBy adminDecember 17, 2020

The Wenchi  High Court has tossed out a case brought before it by the New Patriotic Party against the Electoral Commission and the National Democratic Congress on the Sene West Parliamentary Elections.

The court decided that the said case needs merit, reason it was dismissed.

The NPP has consequently  been fined an amount of GHS 20,000 for burning through the hour of the court.

The Sene West Constituency’s Tato battor surveying station B polling booth is yet to be tallied after one Christian Nukpeta grabbed the ballot box when the election results were being checked.

Albeit Christian Nukpeta was captured quickly, the gatherings included saw that the seal of the voting station having a place with the NPP had been eliminated, leaving that of the Electoral Commission and NDC.

Accordingly, Lawyers for the NPP’s Sene West parliamentary applicant, Joseph Markay Kuma, quickly looked for an order from the court to prevent the EC from including the polling form papers in the container.

The voting booth was then secured at the Techiman Police Headquarters.

Notwithstanding, counsel for Joseph Markay Kuma pulled out their movement of order on the affirmation of the outcomes as recorded in their request.

The court on Thursday suppressed the money and by this, the EC would now be able to proceed to either check the grabbed voting booth or lead new races in that surveying station as it were.
