President John Dramani Mahama has responded to an enthusiastic citizen who publicly appealed to him to run for the presidency once more after completing his current term in office.
The incident occurred as the President was departing from an official event. While seated in his vehicle, he was greeted by a large crowd that had gathered to catch a glimpse of him.
Amid the cheers, an elderly man loudly called out, urging the President to consider another bid for office.
“Mr President, go again! Contest again, and if you don’t, I will take you to court!” the man declared.
The President, clearly amused by the remark, responded with a broad smile. From inside his car, he acknowledged the man’s appeal, saying, “I have heard you,” while continuing to wave at the crowd as his convoy moved away.
Following the moment, the elderly man was approached by another individual and asked to clarify his statement. He explained that his call was driven by admiration for the President’s performance and a desire to see him continue what he described as good work.
