NDC Unveils Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang as Hopeful Vice President for 2024 Elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially unveiled Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as their running mate for the December 2024 general elections.

The introduction ceremony occurred at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) on Wednesday, April 24th.

Key figures from the NDC, including Members of Parliament, the National Chairman, the General Secretary, the Council of Elders, and party stalwarts, gathered at UPSA to present Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

During his speech, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party’s General Secretary, highlighted the importance of Prof Opoku-Agyemang’s role in supporting the party’s flagbearer to bring hope and relief to Ghanaians.

He emphasized the decline of the vice presidential office over the last eight years, calling it a symbol of deception, lack of credibility, and corruption.

“In you, Naana Jane, we see an individual who will help restore the office to its former glory, where John Dramani Mahama held it during his vice presidency,” he said.

He reiterated that with Prof Opoku-Agyemang’s arrival, the vice presidential office would be restored to its honorable position.

Former President and NDC flagbearer, John Mahama, emphasized the urgent need for trustworthy leadership in Ghana.

“Ghana needs a leadership that values integrity, truth, and accountability,” he said.

He expressed confidence in Prof Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s ability to bring honesty and accountability back to the vice presidential office.

“With Naana Jane as my Vice President, Ghana can be assured that an NDC government led by me will fight corruption and restore accountability,” he added.
