Kennedy Agyepong Laments: ‘No Contracts Since 2021, The One I Nearly Won Got Cancelled!

adminBy adminSeptember 19, 2023

Kennedy Agyapong, an aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer position, has revealed that he has not been awarded any government contracts since 2021.

Despite allegations from party insiders that he has benefited from government contracts and criticized the government when dissatisfied, Agyapong clarified during an interview on Kessben TV (September 18) that he came close to securing only one contract with the Energy Ministry, which was eventually canceled.

“For those spreading rumors that Kennedy Agyapong has received contracts, I met with the president and informed him that since 2021, despite all I’ve done for the NPP, I haven’t been awarded any contracts. His response was ‘what?'”

“Consult NAPO; even in the Energy Ministry, where I hold a significant position as Ghana Gas Board Chair, I was offered a contract that got derailed at the Central Tender Review Committee,” lamented Agyapong.

He reiterated that he has faced intimidation, business blockades, and more, stating, “I have remained silent. I insist that since we assumed power… ask NAPO, when I spoke to the elderly gentleman and informed him, he was taken aback,” he added.
