A Ghanaian non-governmental organization (NGO) is demanding answers following the sudden and mysterious death of 27-year-old Zainab Mpaha, an amputee, who was found lifeless in her room at Dinase, in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region.
Charismata Steward Ministries (CSM), a non-profit organization that provides support for the marginalized, has raised concerns over unanswered questions surrounding Zainab’s death, particularly in light of disturbing videos she reportedly recorded before she passed away.
Circumstances Leading to Zainab’s Death
According to her husband, who has requested anonymity, Zainab had not been feeling well in the days leading up to her death. He stated that she had visited the hospital, received treatment, and was discharged the same day. However, her health concerns persisted.

Weeks before her passing, Zainab made an emotional plea to Sandra Opoku Fofie, a member of CSM’s management, seeking financial assistance to undergo chemotherapy at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
“I just want to go to Gee to see the doctor who told me to come so they can do the chemo, Maa,” she reportedly told Madam Sandra in what would be one of her last conversations.
Zainab had recently relocated from her uncle’s house in Asenua, Kwabre East Municipality, after allegedly suffering mistreatment from her aunt. She had hoped for a fresh start at Dinase, but her life was cut short under circumstances that many find suspicious.
Husband’s Account Raises Questions
The husband recounted the events of the morning she died. He claimed he had stepped outside to prepare herbal medicine for Zainab, only to return and find her lying unresponsive on the ground. Alarmed, he called for help, and those who arrived pronounced her dead.
However, medical professionals and security officials believe there is more to the story.
“The nature of her death raises too many questions. The cancer she was battling could not have killed her that easily,” said a doctor who had been involved in her treatment.
CSM, which had spent approximately GH₵70,000 on Zainab’s cancer treatment, is calling for a full investigation. They argue that her sudden death, coupled with the swift burial just hours after she passed away, suggests possible foul play.

“We need to know the truth. We invested in her treatment, and now we are being told she just died without explanation. This does not add up,” a CSM spokesperson stated.
The organization, along with concerned medical professionals and security personnel, is urging authorities to launch an inquiry to determine the exact cause of death and ensure accountability.
