Dr Bawumia Has been Removed, He Is No Longer Serving As Chairman Of Economic Management Team -Lawyer Amaliba Alleges

adminBy adminAugust 10, 2022

A private legal practitioner and a member of the communication and legal teams of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), lawyer Abraham Amaliba has stated that the Vice President Alhaji Dr Mamoud Bawumia has been removed as the Chairman of Economic Management Team of the New Patriotic Party Government.

He alleged that the Senior Presidential Advisor ,Mr Osafo Marfo has instead been asked to take over the chairmanship position from the Vice President ,Alhaji Dr Mamoud Bawumia .

Mr Abraham Amaliba speculated that Vice President Dr Mamould Bawumia was removed from his role in chairing the Economic Management Team of the government because his credibility and prowess as economic guru was no longer recognized and trusted by the government .

Mr Abraham Amaliba made this allegation when he was reacting to President Akufo Addo’s assertion on TV3 New Day that he was not ready to reshuffle his ministerial team in government.

When asked where he obtained his information regarding the removal of Vice President Dr Momoud Bawumia as chairman of Economic Management Team from , Mr Abraham Amaliba noted that ” People in authority do not know that the wrong they do come out ,and i’m giving you example of how some of these information come out. You think the garden boy is weeding and singing and does not listen to the things you say on phone to your colleague . And you think the garden boy is an NPP person so he will not say” .

He questioned the much touted economic management skills of Vice President Dr Bawumia ,indicating that he has failed to competently addressing the country’s economic problems .

” This is the man who just left the economy and he is now doing digitalization .Was what they sold to us ? They sold to us a person who would come and turn around our economy”, he stressed
Mr Abraham Amaliba argued that Ghana’s economy had worsen comparing to the 2016 where the NPP took over from the previous NDC government.
” Today this economy is not even at the level of the 2016 when they took over power.

“Our public loan portfolio or public debt is close to GHC400billion .”,he noted

He indicated that he wasn’t surprised about how the economy had been mismanaged by the NPP government because they were only hyped as economic champions.
” I’m not surprised because i knew that those were people who were over hyped .
My people say that it’s when the frog dies that you can see its full length.

“We’ve now seen the full length of Nana Addo and Dr Momoud Bawumia .

I’m happy that finally he became President, Akufo Addo ,else posterity would have judged him kindly. They would have said Akufo Addo was the President Ghana never had . I’m happy that today we’ve seen his performance and his performance is mediocre.” ,he stated

He further described President Akufo Addo as incompetent “A mediocre President with mediocre score of CCC+ per negative outlook .” This does not argur well for this economy.”, he noted

Mr Abraham Amaliba, therefore, urged President Akufo Addo , Vice President Alhaji Dr Mamoud and finance Minister ,Hon.Ken Ofori Atta to resign en bloc .

” If this was a serious economy they would have resigned , because they know that things are not working .

He noted that if the president Akufo Addo and his non-performing ministers were there for good of the country most of them would walk out of government.
