Mrs Veronica Ackah Miezah Receives Four Prestigious Awards from Sekyere Rural Bank

Mrs. Veronica Ackah Miezah, the Branch Manager of Sekyere Rural Bank PLC in Kronum, has been honored with four prestigious awards for her outstanding contributions to the bank’s growth and her support for women in trading with the bank as customers.

The accolades include being among the first ten top shareholders of the bank, recognized as the Best Branch Manager, acknowledged as the longest-serving branch manager across all branches, and commended for her significant role in organizing the successful 40th anniversary of the bank.

Speaking exclusively to Ghanaian Watch at the Kronum branch office of the Bank in the Suame Municipality of the Ashanti region, Mrs. Ackah Miezah, also the President of the Ashanti region Rural Bank Ladies Association, shared her journey to receiving these accolades and her commitment to empowering women to embrace the habit of savings.

“I received these four awards through hard work and dedication,” Mrs. Ackah Miezah remarked. “Investing my own money in the bank as shares was one aspect, showing my commitment to its progress and development.”

Highlighting her values as a branch manager, she added, “I believe in proper work ethics, determination, sacrifice, good attitude, offering words of encouragement to customers, and serving with humility.”

Her dedication to the bank and its customers has also been recognized through her longevity in the role, symbolizing her commitment to excellence and leadership within the organization.

Encouraging Financial Prudence among Women Traders

From Market Stalls to Wealth Creation Mrs. Ackah Miezah Urges Women to Embrace Financial Prudence.

As the President of the Ashanti Regional Rural Banks Ladies Association, Mrs. Veronica Ackah Miezah urged Ghanaian women, particularly those involved in petty trading, to adopt prudent financial practices for a secure future.

In an exclusive interview with Ghanaian Watch, Mrs. Ackah Miezah stressed the importance of financial literacy and prudent management, encouraging women in petty trading to seek investment opportunities, especially with banks, as crucial for wealth creation.

She emphasized, “It’s vital for women in petty trading and small-scale businesses to acquire knowledge in business management to foster growth.”

A Glimpse into Mrs. Veronica Ackah Miezah’s Journey in the Rural Bank Sector

Mrs. Ackah Miezah’s journey in the rural bank sector spans over three decades, beginning her career at Ahantaman Rural Bank in 1988 before joining Sekyere Rural Bank in 1995.

Reflecting on the early challenges, she recalled walking miles to reach customers in remote communities, demonstrating her commitment to serving even in the face of logistical limitations.

Despite the manual methods prevalent in the industry during her early years, Mrs. Ackah Miezah worked harder to meet the corporate objectives of the bank at the time.

She , however,  embraced technological advancements, adapting to the changing landscape of banking with perseverance and dedication.

Her rise through the ranks, from clerk teller to Kronum Branch Manager, showcases her resilience and determination to excel in her career.

The Secrets Behind Mrs. Veronica Ackah Miezah’s Success

Mrs. Ackah Miezah attributes her success to her unwavering faith in God , humility, honesty, and willingness to learn. Her dedication to serving both her community and the bank has been instrumental in her personal and professional development.

Sekyere Rural Bank’s Contributions to Ghana’s Economic Development

Explaining Sekyere Rural Bank’s role in Ghana’s economic development, Mrs. Veronica Ackah Miezah highlighted the bank’s consistent growth in profit, capital, assets, loans to customers, shareholders’ fund, dividends, and corporate social responsibilities.

” In 2022 , the bank spent a total of GHC93,470 on corporate social responsibilities which was mainly in the area of education, health, security, scholarships and sponsorships of major social events”

She emphasized the importance of compliance with regulations, good corporate governance practices, effective risk management systems, and excellence in customer service as the pillars of the bank’s success.

“Our commitment to delighting customers and fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities sets us apart,” Mrs. Ackah Miezah concluded, underscoring the bank’s significant contributions to community development through various initiatives such as building schools, hospitals, police posts, and awarding scholarships.
