You have No Power To Install Chief At Esumeja – Dormaahene Tackles Otumfuo

adminBy adminMay 6, 2022Updated:May 6, 2022

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Nana Agyemang Badu II, Dormaahene, has conveyed a strong message to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Ashantehene, following the installation of Esumejahene.

Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Nana Agyemang Badu II,
Indicated many people don’t understand at whatever point he attempts to address regarding history between the Bono and Asanteman in light of the fact that it has been mutilated for quite a while

He said, Otumfuo erred with his new installation of a chief of Esumeja in light of the fact that the Ashantehene has no power or his jurisdiction doesn’t stretch out to people of Esumeja.

He stressed that as far as he occupies the stool as Dormaahene, he and people of Dormaa won’t permit the Ashantehene to choose a non-royal to be a chief over his people of Esumeja.

“… we moved from Nsawam to Obo, from Obo to Esumeja, from Esumeja to Kwumawu [Adiebayi], from Adiebayi to Suntreso, from Suntreso to Banso, from Banso to Titinbepo, from Titinbepo to Domawidemu, from Domawidem to Abesim, from Abesim to Germain and afterward to Cote d’Ivoire.

Dormaahene returned from Cote d’Ivoire to Abesim on the grounds that he abandoned some of his people when people settled at Abesim – significantly chewing of kola as I wait from my kinsmen…

“… Nana, our kinsmen that we left at Esumeja; I can’t help suspecting that you feel there is no royal among them, hence, you followed up on your own volition and chose somebody to the be head of Esumeja. Is in any event, shocking that, when he was making the vow of office, since he was not an imperial from – Dormaa, he was unable to specify any of his predecessor’s names and he professes to be Esumejahene?” Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Nana Agyemang Badu II stressed in a viral video available to Ghanaian Watch .
He further stated that , “Nana, people of Dormaa – being the oldest of the Aduana group – we won’t preside over such illegality ; truth be told, this can’t work. Somebody will ask, Nana you are in Bono and they are in Ashante, how csn you say that you will not permit this to work?

“I, first of all, need everybody to understand that I am the first born of duana clan… and I am letting you know that what you did at Esumeja is illigality and not the custom… Nana, imagine that Dompim stool is vacant and they need somebody to become Dompimhene, do you suppose I reserve the option to choose Dompimhene?

…We had great chief like the chief of Mampong, Kwumawu; how could they sit for Otumfuo to propagate such lawlessness?… how does the Esumejahene that you enstooled realize that he is a royal ? Does he has any idea about how his forebearers ocupy that stool that he sits on today? Our kinsmen are currently at Esumeja people of Dormaa actually possess the Esumeja stool; those in Dormaa won’t agree if we don’t claim the Esumeja stool.”

With all due respect to Otumfuo, what you did was off-base, you have no authority to introduce a chief at Esumeja… in regards to what you did, we stay here at the Palace of Dormaa and convey this cautioning that we disagree; as a matter of fact, we reject what you did. This is off-base and can’t agree. I won’t leave it here, but instead I will follow up, go to whatever length and ensure that we don’t lose our legacy, our history.

“Have you heard that the Obo stool has been taken from us? Have you heard where we remained prior to settling at Dormaa, the stool has been taken from us? Anyway, why some chief will attempt to claim the stool that is legitimately our own?”

He encouraged Mamponghene and the sovereign mother of Asanteman to encourage her child to loathe this illegality that he has made.

“I’m begging Mamponghene and particularly the Queen Mother of Manhyia to prompt his child since he is ventured beyond his jurisdiction and I will not excuse assuming you venture beyond your domain and go into mine… ,” ‘irate’ Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Nana Agyemang Badu II noted .

He further stated : “When you are introducing your chiefs , I don’t draw nearer yet when people of Dormaa are introducing their chiefs , you are in a rush to come close; with this, you didn’t act well. The one introduced as Esumejahene ought to understand that, we don’t know him as a regal from Dormaa, in this way, he can’t hold himself as Esumejahene… else, we will make a genuine move against him. We don’t maintain that anyone should suffer on account of a demonstration of lawlessness.

“… I am given you a fourteen days ultimatum , in the event that I hear nothing I will go to Esumeja myself, and meet with my kinsmen; If anyone thinks we don’t have royals, they are off-base. We actually have royals at Esumeja, regardless of whether we get a royal to occupy the Esumeja stool, I will send a royal from Aduana to possess that stool… ”

Dormaahene later prevailed upon Otumfuo to come and help people of Dormaa in developing their vommunity on the grounds that every chief was enstooled with the purpose of ensuring that their community receive meaningful development.
