By Isaac Nsiah Foster

The Asokore Mampong Akwamuhene, Nana Oheneba Kofi Nti, has dismissed rumors that the 17th occupant of the Asokore Mampong stool, Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, has passed away.

Refuting the claims, the newly installed Akwamuhene emphasized that the Asokore Mamponghene, who also serves as Otumfuo Nifahene, is alive. He described the reports of his death as “mere rumors without fact.”

Nana Oheneba Kofi Nti, a former assembly member for the area and now caretaker of the Asokore Mampong Traditional Area, acknowledged that Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah has not been well. However, he clarified that the chief has traveled to South Africa for medical treatment and is recovering.

According to him, “Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah is doing well and has assured to return home soon.”

He further stated, “The Asokore Mamponghene, Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, is still alive and working hard to bring development to Asokore Mampong and its surrounding communities, especially in transforming the Okomfo Anokye Rod Site, located at the Asokore Mampong old palace, into a tourist attraction center,” he told Elvisanokyenews.

Nana Oheneba Kofi Nti urged the public and rumor mongers to desist from spreading false information.
