Kumaca Old Students To Commission Ghc 8.5 Million Ultra-Mordern Science Lab For Alma Mater

The Chairman of the planning Committee for the commissioning of GHC8.5 Million ultra-modern science laboratory for the Kumasi Academy Senior High School, Okunini Ernest Yaw Anim has assured the planning committee’s preparedness to commission the enviable and the biggest science laboratory in Ghana .

He said the project, an initiative of the Kumasi Academy Past Students’ Association is about ninety nine percent complete and it will be duly commissioned next month starting from 8th to 10th July ,2022 at the school premises.

He mentioned a series of activities have been lined up to usher in the grand opening ceremony, which include homecoming and Forum at the Kumasi Academy campus and it is expected to take place on 8th July.
He announced that the grand commissioning and the Handing Over ceremony is scheduled on Saturday,9th July,2022.

He said : “The event will feature Dinner Dance and Awards Night at the school Assembly Hall on
Sunday, 10th July, 2022 , and Thanksgiving Service on the school campus. ”

Mr Ernest Yaw Anim noted that the commissioning and handing over ceremony would be graced by a number of important personalities ;Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education as Special Guest of Honour. Other distinguished invited guests are Nana Boakye Yam Ababio, Nkwantakesse Hene and Chairman of the Commissioning, Okunini Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, President of the Ghana Baptist Convention and Chairman of the Peace Council, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister and Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, MP for Asawase Constituency.

Okunini Dr. Samuel Tinagyei who is in charge of the publicity for the commissioning of the science laboratory , expressed appreciation of the past students Association to all and sundry, especially to the members for their Sterling contributions they had made towards completion of the projects.

He used the opportunity to reiterate that education is very expensive and that it was imperative for the citizenry to partner with the government to provide suitably quality education to all school children in the country.

” We know that education is expensive, especially quality education and that it’s important that we don’t leave it only to the state to try and carry the burden by itself.So, all past students associations this is a very important thing we can do to partner our own schools to make education better . We should Provide facilities like this lab,so that we can be proud of our schools.”

“Now there is a national maths and science quiz, everybody wants their school to do well. So, if we partner with the authorities to provide some of these facilities in our schools, i think it will expand the capacity of education and produce quality students in our various schools across the country.” ,he noted

He further stated it was a great opportunity for old students to plough back what they gained in their schools.
